GSF Agricultural harvests going to our students during coronavirus

Although the coronavirus pandemic continues to pose problems in Haiti, and schools remain closed, including the GSF school on Île à Vache, our sustainable agriculture program is running strong in the midst of the crisis.

Harvests from the vegetable fields, including eggplant and green pepper, went out to the homes of our students yesterday along with the eggs and chickens we also produce. This local, sustainable food production is important for Haiti and Île à Vache even in normal times, but with the disruptions the virus has caused, they are even more important now.

As in the wake of Hurricane Matthew, our sustainable agriculture program is once again proving to be a major component for resilience for food security on Île à Vache.
