Holiday news and updates

It's been a busy month in La Hatte, with the first classes for the Kindergarten in the new pavilion taking place. We hope to have it painted and to build storage lockers for the students over the holidays. Also, several of our students sponsored by our scholarships have graduated. This is a big achievement in the circumstances they've had to face in 2020 — we wish them all the best and our congratulations!

The schools are in exams this week for the end of the first 3rd of the year — more news right before Christmas! Please think of us in your end of year donations, more needed than ever to keep children in school, malnutrition at bay, and the community together!

In other updates, Sequoia's vessel Tandemeer visited Île à Vache again last week with solar expert Oscar, and generously gave their time and a new inverter to improve the system they donated to the school last year. They also helped work on the system at the agriculture head quarters. We are very grateful to them — especially in a year when few boats or foreign nationals have been able to visit the country. Thank you!

We are also honored to announce that a major sponsor several times over the last few years, Al Spens and family, and their company Mavrastar Limited in the UK, have agreed to sponsor GSF again! This is an enormous help in continuing all of our programs as costs and inflation in Haiti have been spiraling. The success of our schools and the agriculture program has been noticed. Thank you for your support!
